When to Rent Snow Gear: A Simple Timeline (and Why It Matters)

Great snow trips start with boring logistics (sorry, it's true)

Nothing kills a snow-weekend vibe faster than scrambling for gear last-minute or paying rush shipping because you forgot it was already Wednesday.

Here’s the easiest way to time your rental so your gear shows up when you need it.

The simple rental timeline

If your trip starts on a weekend:

Order by Monday or Tuesday 2 weeks ahead of your trip.
That gives you:

  • time for shipping

  • time to try on sizes

  • time to swap if needed

  • time to breathe like a calm, prepared person

If your trip is during a holiday or peak season:

Order a month ahead if you can.
Holiday weeks (December/New Year/MLK/Presidents’ Week) get busy everywhere, including shipping carriers. Early orders = smooth arrivals.

If your trip is last-minute:

Order ASAP and choose the earliest start date you can.
We’ll do our best to get it moving quickly, but the earlier you click, the better your odds. Need extra help? Email us at rent@zent.com! There's always a chance we can express ship your gear to you if it's all in stock and ready to go.

Why timing matters (even when it feels early)

1. Sizes go faster during peak weeks

Especially kids’ sizes and common adult sizes.

2. You want time for fit tweaks

Trying gear on at home beats discovering something’s off in an icy parking lot.

3. Shipping buffers save your sanity

Weather delays happen. Roads close. Carriers do carrier things. A buffer keeps your trip on track.

What happens after you order?

  • You pick your start date

  • We ship gear to arrive up to 2 weeks before that day (yay buffers!)

  • You try everything on

  • If a size feels off, you reach out and we help swap

  • You head to the snow knowing you’re set
